The moments I spend with my family are priceless to me. Just last night, we had everyone over for dinnerÑall three kids, plus their grandchildren. All in all, there were more than 10 of us, total, sitting in our small little dining room all crammed in around the table! ThatÕs what you call family togetherness.

We hadnÕt seen everyone in a while so I decided to throw a potluck dinner just for kicks. Everyone brought their favorite dishes, and I of course made a bunch as well. My favorite recipe of the night? CindyÕs sausage balls. TheyÕre a delicious combo of cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, biscuit breading and hot Italian sausageÑa killer trio! We all had a great timeÑlaughing, dining and the works. ItÕs nights like these that really enhance your life and create lasting memories, you know?

Gone For 2 Days

My husband left again for funeral details. He will be coming home on Sunday morning. It sucks because my son and I are going to spend halloween with out him. I really am missing him a lot, I do hope that he misses me more.

Arrozcaldo For Dinner

Like What I have said earlier I was undecided whether to fry or bake the chicken. Well, my husband just decided for me, he told me that he wanted me to make some arrozcaldo.

I really hate it when I have an appointment with my doctor or when I have to go with my son or husband to the hospital. I really do not know what to cook for dinner. I only have chicken out so I am debating whether to bake or fry it. My husband wants me to bake it, he said it is so much healthier than frying it and I agree with him but geesh I think frying the chicken will taste better than baking it. So Restless

I went to sleep around 11:30 in the morning and I woke up around 2:00 p.m. My son woke me up and I can't go back to sleep. I really feel so restless and so exhausted but I know I do not have the right to complain because I chose to stay awake and play tong its with my friends.

Ramos, executive director of National Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Council (NDRRMC) said in a phone interview."Billions [of pesos] in Regions 1, 2 and the Cordillera Administrative Region," Mr. Ramos said, adding damage estimates will be released today after concerned agencies have assessed the extent of destruction.A total of 2,268 families or 10,434 persons in Regions 1, 2, 3, CAR and Metro Manila have either been displaced or affected by typhoon Juan due to landslides, storm surges and floods, according to an NDRRMC report.The provinces of Cagayan and Isabela in Region 2 recorded the most number of evacuees with 3,998 persons. About 80% of houses in three of 37 Isabela towns have been devastated by the typhoon, according to NDRRMC.

OFW from Abu Dhabi found dead on Gulf Airplane's Toilet

I just watched the news about an OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) from Abu Dhabi who was found dead on Gulf Airplane's toilet just before the airplane was about to land. Here's the news I've found online.

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE 3)—A Filipino found dead in the toilet of a Gulf Air plane Wednesday has been identified by the airline’s local station manager as Marlon Cueva, 36, of Lubang Island, Mindoro Occidental. He was an electrician who worked in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

Pasay City police chief Senior Supt. Napoleon Cuaton said Cueva was found hanging inside the toilet at the rear of the plane by a flight steward around 11:20 a.m., shortly after Gulf Air flight GF 154 from Bahrain landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.

Cueva apparently committed suicide, NAIA 1 General Manager Octavio Villalina told Radyo Inquirer, although it was not clear how he took his own life inside the toilet.

Cuaton told reporters, “The injuries seem self-inflicted. He probably used a clothing article to hang himself. There were no ropes or wires. We will leave it to our forensics experts to establish the suicide. The lavatory was intact.”

Pictures of the scene showed Cueva slumped on the aisle leading to the right lavatory where he was left by a Filipino nurse who tried to revive him but failed.

Cueva wore a black jacket and a blue shirt.

The police had yet to take the corpse out of the plane as of 3 p.m. Cueva’s wife, Vilma, and two other female relatives were waiting at the NAIA medical office.

“I don’t know why he did this. There’s no reason at all. We wonder why he would do this,” she said before asking mediamen to go away and give her privacy.

Gulf Air station manager Khaled Ahmed Abdulrahman apologized to some 300 passengers waiting for plane’s return trip. The plane was supposed to leave NAIA at 12:30 p.m.

Typhoon Megi ("Juan") Leaves 12 Dead in the Philippines

I couldn't help myself but to shed a tear when I was watching the news about what's going on in the Philippines right now. I would like to share this news that I've found online with you all.

MANILA, Philippines—The strongest typhoon in the world this year hit the country, making its way out of northern Luzon but its howling winds and continuous rains from Monday night to Tuesday morning left at least 12 people dead.

“Juan” is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility on Wednesday afternoon after slowing down in the South China Sea.

In another Inquirer.net report, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Tuesday that Typhoon “Juan” could be pushed back to the Philippines by two weather systems in the vicinity of China which were holding the typhoon back from its northwesterly track.

Science Undersecretary Graciano Yumul, PAGASA officer-in-charge, said "Juan" had become “quasi-stationary” as it moved away from the Philippine area of responsibility because of the two high-pressure areas northwest of the archipelago.

Many areas in northern Luzon remained without power and communications facilities a day after Super-typhoon “Juan” (international code name: Megi) ripped over the region with gusts of 260 kilometers per hour.

“The waves in Maconacon were as big as houses and swamped the town plaza facing the Pacific Ocean,” Isabela Gov. Faustino Dy said over dzBB radio as he appealed for help.

Dy said water, food and medicine were desperately needed in Maconacon, a village of about 4,000 people that remained isolated and only accessible by helicopter or by small boat.

Three people in Maconacon drowned in the storm surge and many others were wounded on Monday, he said.

Dy said he could not give a full report of the damage to all coastal areas because the 240-kilometer northeastern shoreline of Isabela remained difficult to reach.

The super-typhoon destroyed huge tracts of rice and corn crops, an official said, warning the country could be forced to import more rice.

Nearly 100,000 hectares of rice and corn crops had been destroyed across Isabela, one of the Philippines’ key farming regions, Governor Dy said.

The Philippines, the world’s largest rice importer, imported 2.4 million tons of rice last year.

Initial field reports are not encouraging, with the governor of the key agricultural province of Isabela estimating 385,000 tons of rice and 46,400 tons of corn will be lost.

Damage to agriculture was initially placed at more than P1.55 billion, with rice and vegetable farmers taking heavy losses, the Department of Agriculture said.

Assistant Agriculture Secretary Salvador Salacup said the figure was a “conservative” estimate.

The strong winds had dissipated after Juan moved off the west coast of Luzon early on Tuesday morning. But it continued to unleash rain after its trajectory toward China stalled and it hovered near Luzon throughout Tuesday.

“Its radius is 300 kilometers so even if it has left the country, rains will continue to affect us, probably until tonight,” said Benito Ramos, head of the national disaster monitoring council.

As of 11 p.m. Tuesday, Juan was spotted 280 km west northwest of Dagupan City, moving at 7 kph toward China. At its fastest, Juan moved at 24 kph.

The typhoon carried maximum winds of 175 kph near the center and gusts of up to 210 kph in the open sea.

At a 5 p.m. briefing Tuesday, Aldczar Aurelio, a junior government forecaster, said the typhoon was almost stationary in the South China Sea Tuesday morning. A high pressure area northwest of Juan prevented it from moving further for a few hours, he said.

Due to bad weather, eight flights to and from Batanes and Palawan were canceled at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Tuesday.

Schools were suspended in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon amid fears of flash floods, while rescue workers tried to reach villagers stranded in remote areas that were cut off by the typhoon.

Buri Tree Kills 3

Elsewhere in Luzon, nine people were reported killed.

In Pangasinan, a mother and her two children were killed on Monday night in San Fabian town after a buri tree pinned them down while the typhoon was raging.

Paterno Orduña, executive officer of the provincial disaster council, identified the victims as Ana Vidal, 29, and her daughter EJ, 4, and son Ogie, 2.

The three were lying on the floor and were about to sleep at 7:30 p.m. when the tree fell on their house.

Their deaths brought to four the number of typhoon-related fatalities in Pangasinan. On Monday morning, Reddy Espinosa, a farmer in Mangatarem town, died after he was hit by lightning.

In Nueva Ecija, the provincial disaster council said Roberto Alcaybar drowned while he was crossing a river in Carranglan town on Monday night.

"Running Wilde" is a Wild Time

Tuesdays is the night for comedy with Fox's newest hit, "Running Wilde." I watched my favorite fall TV premier on the satellite tv that we got from www.directstartv.com/directv_programming/directv_nfl-sunday-ticket.html on September 19 and cannot wait to watch "Running Wilde" unfold all season.

"Running Wilde" follows Steve Wilde (played by Will Arnett) as he works to win back his first and only love, Emmy Kadubic (played by Keri Russell). The show, written by the same people behind "Arrested Development," is unlike the other comedies on air today.

The show starts with an introduction to self-centered Wilde who is giving himself a humanitarian award to impress his actual humanitarian love interest, Emmy. We learn he has no friends aside from his driver who finds Emmy in the Amazon to invite her to the party. Emmy shows up to see Wilde is no different than he was, but agrees to move home to work on her next charity case- him.

Arnett delivers comedy that is sarcastic, blunt and offensive which adds a special dimension to "Running Wilde." Teamed up with an innocent actress like Russell, Arnett plays well off of her pure-demeanor. In a way when you watch "Running Wilde" you see a little bit of Gob Bluth (from "Arrested Development") in Arnett. With cameos from comedians like David Cross, this show is nearly guarantee to make you laugh out loud every week.

Left His Keys Inside The Car

I was asleep when my cellphone rang, I answered and it was my husband calling. He told me that he left his keys inside the car and he's asking me if I can go to his work and unlock his car. Good thing I answered my cellphone or else he will be staying at work until I wake up. I hope that won't happen again...

Sleeping Pills

I really hate it when my insomia attacks especially when I have to wake up early the next day to attend to my son's needs before he go to school. Someone to rake leaves

There's one thing that I dread doing every fall time. And that's raking leaves. I just absoultely hate raking but it's just something that you have to do when it's about this time of the year. Plus, I have back problems so it's not just me being lazy when it comes to this.

This year I decided to find someone else to do it but I don't have kids so I had to kind of think outside of the box. I used me DIRECT TV internet and got online to put up an ad online looking for someone who would rake the leaves in my yard for me. I told them about how big my yard is in the ad and that I would pay them about fifty dollars for the whole yard because I think it would take a few hours and be pretty labor intensive.

It ends up that one of teh neighborhood kids answered the ad and I probably should have asked them to do it in the first place. So he and his friend split the work and the pay and I got out of having to rake my own leaves this year, which was a good thing for everyone involved.

Funeral Details

My husband told me yesterday that he is leaving today to do a funeral. I am really proud of my husband because he is doing so great with what he is doing and this is not just a hearsay because he's been awarded for that. He told me he is not sure if they will come home tonight or tomorrow morning, I just hope they come home tonight.

Beef Tapa and Egg For Dinner

My husband texted me this afternoon and told me that he wanted to eat at a chinese buffet for dinner but I've told him that I already took some meat out. He asked me if I can make beef tapa and beef steak, I said yes. When I got home he tried the beef tapa right away and asked me if I can cook some eggs.

Tapa and eggs are for breakfast, I don't know why my husband wanted to eat those. Well, I am happy I didn't have to cook other stuff, he loves tapa and egg and I know I made him so happy and satisfied just by cooking simple food

A good day spent at the zoo

I stopped and set my Securitychoice home security alarm as we left for our day at the zoo. It was a perfect day to go to the zoo, a bit overcast with a light breeze. The big cats were out lazing in their environment looking like contented house cats. I took a lot of pictures hoping to get one really good shot showing their lazy poses.

All of this walking has made the knee I broke start bothering me, but it is probably good exercise for it, hopefully it will be forgiving and not hurt tomorrow. The long semi rough trail up hill by the bear and bobcat exhibits, then around to the elk meadow were quite a strain for the knee but well worth the effort. A nice bull elk with a large rack of antlers was lying with several cows and calves beyond the creek that runs across their meadow. A very nice exhibit emulating a real scene out in the mountains.

After a stop in the elephant house it was time to go home, but we could not leave without visiting the Gift Shop, and after looking at everything they offered we each settled on a T-shirt. I chose a brown one with cougars on the front and Dillon chose a blue one with black bears.

Abandoned

My husband and I watched the movie Abandoned last night. The movie is about a dark tale of a woman searching for her boyfriend after he mysteriously vanishes from the hospital marks the last screen appearance by the late actress Brittany Murphy (8 Mile, Sin City, Just Married, Clueless, Girl, Interrupted).

My husband, our son and I are just chilling in our bedroom since we got nothing else to do. My husband's watching his tv show while I am blogging and our son playing his leap frog games.
