My Lunch

Job On The Side

2010 NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup Predictions

The 2010 NASCAR season has been a roller coaster ride for some teams. When DirecTV let me try their satellite TV pay per view feature for free, I made sure I recorded most of the races this season. History has been made with Jamie McMurray becoming the 3rd driver in NASCAR history to win the Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400 in the same season. Kyle Busch also made history by becoming the first driver to win the Nationwide, Camping World Truck and Sprint Cup series Bristol races in the same weekend.

2 drivers are already locked in. Kevin Harvick and Jeff Gordon. Kyle Busch just has to start the next race at Atlanta and he is in. From the 4th position all the way back to the 21st position can fight it out for the 10 spots left in the top 12. Jamie McMurray is currently 100 points back of Clint Bowyer in the fight for the 12th spot. McMurray has won 2 races and I think he will get the last spot. Mark Martin is 1 point behind McMurray, but I think McMurray has the advantage and momentum throughout these last 2 races. The rest of the top 12 have almost been decided.

The drivers I see making the top 12 are Kevin Harvick, Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin, Tony Stewart, Jeff Burton, Matt Kenseth, Jimmie Johnson, Kurt Busch, Greg Biffle and Jamie McMurray. Sorry Clint Bowyer and Mark Martin fans, but I don't think they can stop McMurray's run.

My son peed on the bed last night. I really hope that he will not do it tonight. My son usually wake up and go to the bathroom when he needs to pee but I guess he was too tired to get up last night that is why he peed on the bed.

Watching Football

I am watching football with my husband right now. The teams playing are Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets. Baltimore Ravens are leading with one point but the game is not over yet.

Mowing The Grass

I just finished mowing the grass and I am really so tired. I've told my husband that I am so exhausted. My hands, back, legs and arms are in pain, I cannot believe how exhausting mowing can be. When my husband mowed the grass, it looked so easy that is why I told him that I am going to try.

The Joys of Roofing

Roofing can be hard but very rewarding. Thankfully, if installed correctly, it only has to be done every 20 years. When roofing our home there were a lot of decisions to made and work to be done. The decision to install a new roof was pretty easy, we got sick of it leaking. My husband has a roofing background so all we needed to do was get the roofing from Sears. Of course I wanted to help. We bribed a couple of our hardy friends, hired our kids as the ground crew, and chose a weekend to begin our project.

Borrowing the tools that we would need was simple. We needed tear-off bars, brooms, nail guns and the rest we had at home. Deciding on which dimensional shingle and color was tough. We went to Sears and purchased the felt, shingles, ice guard and roofing nails.

We started off with the tear off. Thank goodness for the huge dumpster that we rented because there was a lot to tear off. It was the most time consuming part of the job. After replacing some bad wood, felting and applying the ice guard, I quit and the guys laid the shingles.Taking about two days to complete the house looked awesome. Our ceilings were dry, we were a little sore, and we prayed that in 20 years we'd hire someone else to replace it all over again.

Teacher-Parents Conference

This afternoon at 3 o'clock, my husband and I are going to attend the 1st Teacher-Parents Conference at our son's school. By doing this, we will be able to learn more about our child's weakness and skills in school. I really like mijo's new teacher, she is very sweet and very nice. I am sure this conference will turn out great.

2 Hours Late

At 6:30 A.M. today I got a phone call and a voicemail from Sugar Loaf Elementary School. It says that KISD,will start school 2 hours late due to the weather. All staffs and students will report 2 hours later than normal start time. All buses will run regular routes 2 hours later than normal start time. I was glad they made that decision because the weather was really bad and it was so dark. My son is still not feeling well and I am glad he got to sleep in more. I am watching Megadrama concert right now. I didn't know that Sharon Cuneta's concert in Araneta will be shown tonight that is why I am so glad when I changed the channel and the show just started.

Sharon Cuneta's concert is really a good one, she got so many talented guests and her song choices are really nice. I am kind of tired but I will stay up so I can finish watching her concert. Thank God for The Filipino Channel! :)

4 Days Weekend

I am so glad that my husband got a four-day weekend. I know how stressed my husband is at work that is why I am so glad that he didn't have to wake up early for PT and does not have to stay out in the sun the whole day, even for just 4 days.

My husband will be back to work on Tuesday, so he can sleep in tomorrow and does not have to worry about his PT.

Our son, does not have school tomorrow too,yehey! We still have time tomorrow to bond and spend more quality time.

My husband and I watched a documentary film about African's hair. The title of this documentary is Good Hair, narrated by Chris Rock. Good Hair is a 2009 American documentary comedy film produced by Chris Rock Productions and HBO Films, starring and narrated by comedian Chris Rock Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival on January 18, 2009, Good Hair was released to select theaters in the United States by Roadside Attractions on October 9 of the same year, opening across the country on October 23. The film focuses on African American women's hair, including the styling industry surrounding it, the acceptable look of African American women's hair in society, and the effects of both upon African American culture.

Too Tired To Sleep

I am so tired that I cannot fall asleep. Have you experienced that? You cannot go to sleep because you are too exhausted? My husband tried staying up for me, but I told him to just go to sleep, I know he's tired too.

My friends and I had a part time job today, that is why I am exhausted. We cleaned a house, a very dirty nasty house. I really cannot believe how dirty that house was, I can't believe that there are actually people that live in a dirty house. I may not be a clean freak but I am not that nasty.
