Let's Not Forget The Heroes of 9/11

On September 11, 2001, a terrorist attacked happened in 3 different places here in the United States. So many lives have been lost and so many families were left behind by their loved ones instantly.

Today, we are remembering its 11 years or its 11th year anniversary. I cannot believe it's already been 11 years, the memory of it is still so fresh.

Let us all remember and Pray for those people who lost their lives and also Pray for their family who were left behind, may God Bless America!

Black History

Isn't it amazing how God created this world and the people living in it? When I was younger I kept asking why some people got darker or lighter skin than me, why their hair were so much different from mine, my parents used to tell me that every one of us is unique and very special with our own little ways.

Each and every person living in this world wants to know their past or history. I remember when I was in high school, one of my favorite subjects was history, I really liked to know more about other race's history. When I got here to the States, I have learned more about history and I am really glad to know it all because it helped me open my mind to other things. Since I got here, I have met different people from different races and still meeting new people. I got friends that are hispanics, asians, white and black and I love them all.

I have learned that it is very important to know where you came from so you can freely move forward and that there are so many ways to learn about it. I have just read something about Black History. Cinco de Mayo History

I would like to greet all mexicans and mexican in heart a happy happy cinco de Mayo.

According to wikipedia, Cinco de Mayo is a voluntarily-observed holiday that commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza SeguĂn. It is celebrated primarily in the state of Puebla and in the United States. While Cinco de Mayo has limited significance nationwide in Mexico, the date is observed in the United States and other locations around the world as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico's Independence Day,the most important national patriotic holiday in Mexico.

Importance of Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is a date of great importance for the Mexican and Chicano communities. It marks the victory of the Mexican Army over the French at the Battle of Puebla. Although the Mexican army was eventually defeated, the "Batalla de Puebla" came to represent a symbol of Mexican unity and patriotism. With this victory, Mexico demonstrated to the world that Mexico and all of Latin America were willing to defend themselves of any foreign intervention. Especially those from imperialist states bent on world conquest.
In 1862, the French army began its advance. Under General Ignacio Zaragoza, 5,000 ill-equipped Mestizo and Zapotec Indians defeated the French army in what came to be known as the "Batalla de Puebla" on the fifth of May.

In the United States, the "Batalla de Puebla" came to be known as simply "5 de Mayo" and unfortunately, many people wrongly equate it with Mexican Independence which was on September 16, 1810, nearly a fifty year difference. Over, the years Cinco de Mayo has become very commercialized and many people see this holiday as a time for fun and dance. Oddly enough, Cinco de Mayo has become more of Chicano holiday than a Mexican one. Cinco de Mayo is celebrated on a much larger scale here in the United States than it is in Mexico. People of Mexican descent in the United States celebrate this significant day by having parades, mariachi music, folklorico dancing and other types of festive activities.

an euphonious is for life, not just xmas!
