HVAC Installation

Neil Powell shared this guest blog.

All last year my heating and air conditioning system were on the fritz. I kept spending money for a quick fix and I still had issues all year round. I had decided to purchase and install an HVAC myself. It is also necessary to calculate the size unit for your needs. I decided to use the
Sears HVAC installation calculation software.

I also had to consider the ton or amount of air in the unit I was buying. There can be too much heat or too much air for certain spaces. I was told to make sure that my HVAC was AHRI certified. The last thing I had to do before purchasing was to make sure that my boiler and vent piping are compatible with the HVAC I was considering purchasing. There are lots of different options but I chose the one that fit my needs best.

After I purchased my unit I had to check the manufacturer’s performance data sheet to make sure each component of the units are up to manufacturers guarantee. Test the
compressor as it is the most important component. I had to check that the unit was safe electrically. It is also very important to test the compressor. Even though I installed my HVAC I had a mechanic come in and make sure I installed it correctly. It is always good to flush your system once a year.
