Usage Of An Umbrella

When I was still in the Philippines,it is so common for you to see people walking with an umbrella.We use umbrellas to protect us from the UV Rays of the sun and for portable shade.Here in Texas,it is really hot and I hate walking outside.I told my husband that I would use an umbrella and he said okay but then I do not see anybody uses umbrella here so I decided not to do it.I guess here in the States,umbrella is only used during rainy days but in the Philippines we use it rain or shine!
